Can I take Lixiana and Paracetamol together?

Why this happens

Lixiana is an anticoagulant (blood thinner) that works by blocking a specific clotting factor. Paracetamol works on the central nervous system to relieve pain and does not affect blood clotting or the way Lixiana is processed by the liver or kidneys.

What you should do

You can safely take paracetamol while taking Lixiana. However, you should avoid anti-inflammatory painkillers like ibuprofen (Nurofen) or aspirin unless specifically prescribed by your doctor, as these can increase your risk of bleeding.
