There is no known direct interaction between ibuprofen gel and ropinirole. Ibuprofen gel is applied to the skin, and very little of the medicine reaches your bloodstream compared to taking a tablet. This makes it much less likely to interfere with other medications like ropinirole.

Why this happens
Ropinirole is processed by a specific liver enzyme (CYP1A2), while ibuprofen is processed by different enzymes (CYP2C9). Because they use different pathways and the amount of ibuprofen absorbed from a gel is very low, they do not interfere with each other's metabolism or effects.
What you should do
It is generally safe to use these two medications together. However, always apply the gel only to the affected area and do not exceed the dose recommended on the packaging. If you notice any new or worsening side effects, such as increased sleepiness or dizziness, mention it to your doctor or pharmacist.
