Why this happens
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) needs an acidic environment in the stomach to be absorbed most effectively. Esomeprazole works by reducing stomach acid, which can make it slightly harder for the body to take in the vitamin.
What you should do
You can continue taking both together. If you are concerned about your Vitamin C levels, you can take your Vitamin C supplement at a different time of day than your esomeprazole, or simply ensure you have a diet rich in fruits and vegetables.

Your doctor may need to prescribe a lower dose, as these organs are responsible for processing and clearing the medicine from your body.
Magnesium deficiency
Taking this medicine for more than three months can cause your blood magnesium levels to drop significantly, leading to fatigue, muscle spasms, or dizziness.

Alcohol
While alcohol does not directly interact with esomeprazole, it can increase stomach acid production and irritate the stomach lining, which may worsen the symptoms you are taking esomeprazole to treat.
Caffeine (Coffee, Tea, Energy drinks)
Caffeine can trigger or worsen acid reflux and heartburn symptoms. If you are taking esomeprazole for these conditions, you may find that reducing caffeine intake helps the medicine work more effectively.
