Why this happens
Doxazosin and ezetimibe work in completely different ways and are processed by different pathways in the body. Doxazosin relaxes blood vessels to lower blood pressure or improve urinary flow, while ezetimibe reduces the amount of cholesterol absorbed from food. They do not interfere with each other's absorption, metabolism, or excretion.
What you should do
You can continue to take both medications as prescribed by your doctor. As with any blood pressure medication like doxazosin, you should monitor for symptoms of low blood pressure, such as dizziness or lightheadedness, especially when starting treatment or increasing a dose.
