These elegant smoked salmon crisps are the ultimate effortless appetiser for your next gathering. Combining the salty crunch of a quality potato crisp with silky ribbons of smoked fish, this high-protein snack is both sophisticated and satisfying. The addition of tangy crème fraîche and a touch of fresh greenery provides a cooling finish that perfectly balances the rich flavours of the salmon.
A versatile choice for festive parties or summer drinks, this recipe is incredibly simple to assemble. For a more interactive experience, you can present the ingredients on a platter and allow guests to build their own hors d'oeuvres. You might also like to experiment with different bases, such as sweet potato or beetroot crisps, to add a vibrant splash of colour to your serving tray.

Ingredients for Smoked Salmon Chips
6 slices of smoked salmon
12 large crisps
2 tbs crème fraîche (or soured cream)
Chive, thyme or dill for decoration
How to make Smoked Salmon Chips
Divide each salmon slice in two, roll them to an appropriate size, and place them on the chips.
Put the crème fraiche in a plastic bag and cut a little hole in one corner to make the bag work as a piping bag. Pipe about 1/2 teaspoons onto each salmon chip.
Decorate with chive, thyme, or dill.
Make it easy on yourself by placing all the ingredients on a tray and letting your guests compose their own hors d'oeuvres.
Spice it up by using different types of chips such as sweet potato, delta blue potato, or daikon radish. Works well with caviar instead of salmon, too. You can also make your own chips in the oven with thin slices of potatoes.
