This succulent BBQ pork tenderloin is a fantastic addition to your high-protein recipe collection. By slicing the pork into thin strips, the meat stays incredibly tender while absorbing the deep, smoky flavours of the homemade sauce. Unlike shop-bought versions, this sauce balances the sweetness of ketchup with the sharp tang of cider vinegar and a subtle hint of heat from the hot sauce, creating a complex and savoury glaze that perfectly coats the lean meat.
Ideal for a quick weeknight dinner or a post-workout meal, this dish is satisfying without being overly heavy. The pork takes less than ten minutes to cook through, making it a reliable choice for busy evenings. For a classic texture contrast, serve the warm, saucy pork alongside a heap of crunchy, chilled coleslaw. This combination provides a refreshing balance of temperatures and flavours that the whole family will enjoy.

Ingredients for Bbq Pork Tenderloin
450g pork tenderloin
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 garlic clove, minced
60ml ketchup
60ml ketchup-style chilli sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoons hot sauce such as Tabasco
1 cup water
Accompaniment: coleslaw
How to make Bbq Pork Tenderloin
Trim pork of excess fat and silver skin, then cut crosswise into 1/4-inch-thick slices. Cut each slice into 3 strips.
Cook onion in oil in a 4-quart heavy pot over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, until golden, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook, stirring, 1 minute. Add ketchup, chilli sauce, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, hot sauce, and water and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes.
Add pork and simmer, covered, until pork is cooked through and tender, 8 to 10 minutes. Transfer pork with a slotted spoon to a bowl and cover to keep warm. Boil remaining sauce, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened, about 3 minutes. Pour sauce over pork.
