This elegant crab, apple, and mango salad offers a sophisticated blend of fresh coastal flavours and vibrant textures. The sweetness of the jumbo lump crabmeat is perfectly balanced by the sharp acidity of Granny Smith apples and the tropical notes of ripe mango. Tied together with a smooth, zesty cider vinegar dressing, this dish provides a modern twist on the classic seafood cocktail, making it an impressive choice for a seasonal dinner party.
As a dairy-free starter, this recipe relies on high-quality extra-virgin olive oil and fresh herbs to create a rich, satisfying mouthfeel. Serving the salad on homemade cumin apple crisps adds an aromatic crunch and a playful architectural element to the plate. It is a light yet indulgent choice that is as visually striking as it is delicious.

How to make Crabmeat, Apple, and Mango Salad on Cumin Apple Chips
Purée apple, shallot, and garlic with vinegar and salt in a blender, scraping down sides several times, until very smooth. With motor running, add oil in a slow stream, then blend until emulsified and very smooth, about 30 seconds.
Gently stir together crab, mango, apple, coriander, and 6 tablespoons dressing, then season with salt.
Just before serving, put 1 apple chip on each of 6 plates and top each chip with about 45ml crab salad. Layer with another chip and another 45ml crab salad, then top each stack with 1 more chip. Drizzle plates with some of remaining dressing and serve immediately.
